The 2025 NFL Draft is almost here! The time is coming when we will learn whether or not our favorite players will joining the Dallas Cowboys or if they find a home elsewhere. It’s only natural to have certain players you are rooting for to join America’s Team and today I’m sharing who “my guys” are at each position.

Quarterback

None

Unless it’s an undrafted free agent, there’s no reason for the Cowboys to add another rookie QB to the roster after trading for Joe Milton. Milton is the developmental QB they were looking for to hopefully groom behind Dak Prescott.

Running back

LeQuint Allen, Syracuse

LeQuint Allen reminds me a little bit of Tony Pollard due to his RB/WR versatility. He’s probably best in a committee, but his ability to be a potential difference-maker in the passing game out of the backfield, and split out wide, makes him stand out.

Wide Receiver

Jayden Higgins, Iowa State

Jayden Higgins is my favorite WR for the Cowboys in the entire 2025 draft class. He reminds me of Texans WR Nico Collins and he is the perfect WR2 to help take pressure off of CeeDee Lamb and give Dak Prescott another reliable target in the passing game.

Tight end

CJ Dippre, Alabama

It’s doubtful Dallas drafts a TE this year, but if they do, CJ Dippre is an intriguing Day 3 prospect. The 6’4″, 256-pound TE was primarily just an in-line blocker at Alabama, but has the upside to develop into starting caliber player with more time to develop.

Offensive line

iOL – Jonah Savaiinaea, Arizona

OT – Josh Simmons, Ohio State

Although Jonah Savaiinaea possesses the agility and length to remain at OT at the next level, his long-term future is probably best served kicking inside to OG. He could battle to play RG in Dallas as a rookie with RT position flex.

Had it not been for a season-ending injury in 2024, Josh Simmons likely would be the OT1 in the 2025 draft class. While he still a little raw, he could step in as a rookie to be Dallas’ LT this year allowing Tyler Guyton to move back to his more familiar RT position.

EDGE

Oluwafemi Oladejo, UCLA

Oladejo didn’t become an edge rusher until three games into the 2024 season, prior to that he was a MIKE LB. Despite the position switch, he is one of the better pass rusher’s in the draft class. He’s a piece of moldable clay Dallas can continue to develop.

Defensive tackle

Yahya Black, Iowa

Yahya Black is a big-bodied, run-stuffing nose tackle who could immediately step in as a rookie and upgrade the Cowboys run defense. The 6’5″, 336-pound DT with 35″ arms and a 84″ wingspan is expected to be a Day 3 draft pick.

Linebacker

Cody Simon, Ohio State

Simon is an instinctive downhill MIKE LB who is quick to see keys and diagnose plays. He could push for a significant role on defense as a rookie if he can prove to not be a liability in pass coverage, and would also be a key special teams player.

Cornerback

Korie Black, Oklahoma State

Black was a combine snub, but has recently shot up draft boards after an impressive performance that is Pro Day. With his size (6’0″, 192) and speed (4.35) he would provide much-needed depth in Dallas and possibly challenge for playing time as a rookie.

Safety

Jordan Hancock, Ohio State

Hancock is an intriguing defensive back due to his position flex. He played both nickel CB and free safety during his time at Ohio State and could bring that kind of versatility to the Cowboys secondary as well. He’s an interesting Day 3 option for them.
